I have the privilege and honour to pay tribute to an awesome and irreplaceable person in my life. My sister in-law, my friend and my mother, mummy Adeniyi. I lack adequate words to express what you meant to me. I do not even know where to start or how to effectively communicate to the world just what a wonderful person you were. Your death is a huge blow to all of us. The downfall of a hill. A few would wonder can a sister in-law command such respect from her brother’s wife? Mummy, you deserved and still deserve every respect from me and my family. I remain eternally grateful to God for causing our paths to cross through your baby brother Admark Delakun. I cannot forget when Admark introduced me to the family as his wife. Mummy Adeniyi, you and your entire family (your husband and children), welcomed me wholeheartedly and with open arms. That set the tone of our relationship. You remained my sister, my friend and my mummy all through the years, through thick and thin. You never relented nor gave up on me. I remain eternally grateful. Mummy, you were a woman of substance, with remarkable and unprecedented kindness. You always wore a beautiful smile, even when you had to inconvenience yourself to comfort and help the needy. This virtue is not surprising as kindness runs in your whole family. I witnessed the same trait in your mother popularly known as mama Go of Methodist whom I met during my teenage years through my grandmother (Mrs Lydia Adekolurejo), who was also a member of the Methodist Church. I still remember how your mother (mama Go Methodist) left an indelible mark at the Methodist Church. She was adored by all because of her uniqueness in helping and comforting the less privilege. In fact she was a role model of her time. Mummy Adeniyi, just like your mother, you were a role model of our time. You impacted many lives positively, including mine. Over the years I remained a beneficiary of your unwavering humanity, magnanimity and largesse. Time will not permit me to recount your numerous help to me in this tribute, but of particular impact is the emotional and financial succour you gave to me during my grandmother’s funeral. You followed me all the way from Ibadan to Idanre for the burial. I also appreciate your wonderful daughter for the video calls she arranged on WhatsApp in order for us to see ourselves from time to time. I cannot thank you enough. You were the epitome of love, gentility, generosity, goodness and the fear of the Lord. A virtuous woman indeed, accomplished in every good work. You lived a fulfilled life and left huge footprint in the sound of time, worthy of emulation. I love you and will miss you dearly, my friend, my sister and my mummy. I will miss particularly your infectious and beautiful smile which will light up the room whenever I fondly called you « Omo Yeemi Comfort Iya ijo » and you will respond « DORIS !!! » with smile again Suunree ooo! Omo Bami Makindipe & Mama Comfort ni Udale Suunree ooo! Aya Bami Prof. Adeniyi ni Alade Goodnight, mummy. We love you greatly but God loves you the most. Rest in perfect peace. Que l’éternel soit votre force et soutien en cette période aussi gerise les cœurs et console toute la famille. Adieu…… Grand- mère From Doris Akindayomi Makindipe
